What will you provide?

We are seeking a visionary and experienced VP of Engineering to lead our software engineering efforts and drive technological innovation at Aspirion. In this key role, you will establish technical standards, drive the overall technical architecture, and enhance engineering practices across the organization. You will be instrumental in solving complex problems, building high-quality, architecturally sound systems, and aligning our technology strategy with business needs.

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive engineering strategy aligned with Aspirion’s business goals and cloud-first mindset, focusing on Azure Cloud services.
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of high-performing software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
  • Agile and DevOps Excellence: Champion Agile and DevOps methodologies across the engineering organization. Drive the adoption of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and iterative development practices to ensure efficient software delivery.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide architectural oversight and technical leadership, guiding the team in building scalable, reliable, and secure software solutions. Emphasize test-driven development (TDD) and test automation to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure that all engineering practices adhere to healthcare compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST). Implement security best practices in software design and deployment.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: As a key member of the CTO's Technology Leadership team, collaborate closely with Product, IT, Security, Data Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure engineering initiatives are aligned with business priorities and operational needs.   • Innovation and Technology Adoption: Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends. Lead efforts to incorporate AI/ML, data analytics, and other innovations into our technology stack to enhance product offerings.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the engineering team, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving continuous improvement.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Oversee engineering budgets, resource allocation, and technology investments, ensuring that resources are utilized efficiently and aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Decision Making and Stakeholder Engagement: Represent complex trade-off decisions and solutions to stakeholders, helping them understand options and making strategic recommendations that align with Aspirion’s objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: Minimal 10 years of software engineering experience, including the design and development of highly scalable web services, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing large-scale, cloud-based engineering teams.
  • Technical Expertise: Extensive experience with Azure Cloud services, cloud architecture, and modern software development practices, including Object-Oriented principles (C#, Java, or similar), Service-Oriented Architecture, and microservices.
  • Healthcare Compliance: Deep understanding of healthcare compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST) and experience in ensuring software solutions meet these standards.
  • Agile and DevOps Methodologies: Proven track record of implementing and managing Agile and DevOps practices in the software development lifecycle.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire diverse teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on team development, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Desired Qualifications
  • Technical Expertise: Proven leadership in architecting and guiding cloud-based strategies primarily on Azure Cloud, complemented by strong proficiency in AWS.
  • Project Management: Experience with project management and Agile development methodologies.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and drive decisions.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to navigate complex technical and business challenges, making strategic decisions that drive both technical excellence and business results.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully with teams across the organization, including Engineering, Program Management, Quality Assurance, and Senior Leadership.

The US base pay range is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, education, training, licensure or certifications obtained. Market, location and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a bonus tied to achieved results.
